Road.cc tested Smoove and gave it a 4.5 star rating:

When a company claims to make ‘probably the hardest-wearing wax-based chain lube on the market,’ which ‘allows you to ride hundreds of miles between applications,’ I’d expect to see some results. Well, I did. I tried the Smoove Universal Chain Lube, and it’s true.

Smoove’s owner/director, Thomas Dibley, made those claims in a nice covering letter he sent with a bottle of his product to road.cc HQ and asked us to ‘give Smoove a thorough thrashing’. We were happy to help.

BikeRadar tested Smoove and gave it a 4.5 Star Review!

For the everyday rider who often forgets about/puts off cleaning their bike, Smoove is a great option. It lasts forever, runs extremely clean and doesn’t attract much grit at all.

Perhaps most impressive of all, however, is its grit-repelling ability. Even after a couple of hundred trail miles, there are no scraping noises coming from your chain and when you come to clean it there’s a surprising lack of grit swilling around at the bottom of your chain cleaner.

GRAVELBIKE tested Smoove and this was their findings:

The first 30-40 miles of testing took place on damp trails and dirt roads, and I was pleasantly surprised to find no signs of rust on the test bike’s chain. Racking up more miles, I began to wonder when the Smoove lube would need to be reapplied. After 60 miles the bike rode as quietly as it did on day one.

Road Bike Action Magazine had this to say about Smoove.

Smoove is a brand out of South Africa that developed a lube that became one of my favorites very quickly. It works a bit different than most and does take a bit more preparation, but once you get it on, it just keeps working. I was skeptical at first, and even the first use did not go so well, as I tried to rush the process. After following the directions the second time around, I’ve been a fan, and you can find a bottle or two everywhere I work on
my bike.

The techies at BikeTestReviews.com put Smoove through it’s paces and it passed with flying colours.

With SMOOVE, I reached the magic number of one chain per cassette. When the chain was worn out, so was the cassette. Looking at the GREEN column above, SMOOVE had the lowest total 15,000-mile (24,140km) cost of all chain lubes tested.

SMOOVE is the hands-down winner of this test!
